What it means to remain soft while staying disciplined

Softness is not vagueness. You can keep a firm rhythm without becoming rigid. A simple practice, an honest review, and a willingness to begin again can hold both tenderness and steadiness.

A steady rhythm, not a harsh one

People often assume discipline must feel severe, but the best practices are usually calm. They are repeated because they are livable, not because they are punitive. A soft discipline can still be dependable.

If you miss a day, the answer is not self-criticism. The answer is simply to return. That return itself is part of the training.
